Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m the owner of Bloom Beauty, a professional makeup artist and a Delaware-licensed aesthetician. My journey in the beauty industry began over 20 years ago, and while my path has evolved over the years, beauty has always been the common thread. I’ve spent the past 12 years working professionally as a makeup artist and have been a licensed aesthetician for five years, with experience in both traditional and medical aesthetics. I’m also trained and certified in cosmetic tattooing. That combination of experience has shaped the way I approach beauty today. I understand skin, I love makeup, and I’ve spent a lot of years learning that neither one should ever be one-size-fits-all. With makeup, my first priority is listening to what you actually want. My aesthetic leans toward elevated natural glam and beautiful, skin-like finishes, but I also love the creative challenge of a full beat. My background in aesthetics allows me to choose products and techniques based on your individual skin, features and preferences rather than doing the same face on every person who sits in my chair. I want you to look in the mirror and still see yourself…just feeling really, really good. And while bridal makeup has always been a pillar of Bloom Beauty, I also believe getting your makeup done can simply be a fun way to treat yourself. Family photos, date night, birthdays, concerts, events or no particularly important reason at all are good enough reasons to look good=feel good! My approach to skincare is just as individualized. I believe healthy skin starts with looking at the whole picture, because our skin doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Stress, hormones, nutrition, lifestyle, environment and what you’re doing at home can all play a role. My facials pair effective, plant-active skincare with a holistic approach to wellness, so we’re caring for your skin while also giving you a chance to slow down and be taken care of. I’m also a big believer in keeping skincare approachable. I’m not a hard seller, and I’ll never create an insecurity just so I can sell you the solution. I want you to understand your skin and feel comfortable asking questions, even the ones you think you should already know the answers to. And if I don’t know something? I’ll tell you. We’ll figure it out together. That philosophy is a huge part of why I created Bloom Beauty. I wanted a studio that felt warm and welcoming rather than clinical, stuffy or intimidating. The name itself is personal. My late father used to tell me to “bloom where you are planted,” and those words have followed me through a lot of different seasons of my life. When it came time to create something of my own, BLOOM was the only name that ever made sense. I was born and raised in Milton, Delaware, and now my studio is just up the road in Milford. Outside of Bloom, I’m mom to Cadence, a dog mom to Piper, lover of the outdoors, Bravo TV, Philadelphia sports, and someone who will probably talk to you like I’ve known you longer than I actually have. I love beautiful things, but I don’t take beauty, or myself, too seriously. At the end of the day, that’s what I want Bloom to feel like: knowledgeable without being intimidating, elevated without being stuffy, and a place where taking care of yourself feels like something you get to do rather than something else you need to fix.
